Beni was a proven leader with PT Inco geologists and the Indonesian Mining Association. His leadership sprang from example rather than coercion and was based on a commitment for seeing the whole situation clearly.

He was an environmentalist long before it was fashionable. Geologists tend to be philosophers and certainly Beni was. But he also knew how to find the ore!

He and Soffie were vital participants in the collagiality and enterprise that characterized the Inco Pioneers. His tolerant sense of irony, his calm and modest command of the scene were memorable.

We will greatly miss his spirit, his expert skills, and most of all his friendship.
